Your Treatment Journey

What to Expect at Your Physiotherapy Appointment

From your first phone call to full recovery — here is exactly what happens at every stage of your treatment at Kinesio Rehab in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.

Step by Step

Your Treatment Journey

Every patient follows a structured path designed to get you back to doing what you love. Here are the six stages of your physiotherapy journey with us.

Step 1 5 minutes

Book Your Appointment

Contact us via WhatsApp, phone call, or walk-in. Our team will find a convenient time slot for you.

Available Mon-Fri 9am-8pm, Sat 9am-6pm. Located at Putra Heights, Subang Jaya — easy parking available. You can reach us at +6012-934 9471 via WhatsApp or phone call.

Step 2 45-60 minutes

Initial Assessment

Your physiotherapist conducts a thorough assessment — medical history, physical examination, movement analysis, and specialised tests.

Bring: referral letter (if any), medical reports, comfortable clothing. We assess strength, range of motion, posture, and functional movement patterns. Your physiotherapist will take the time to listen to your concerns and understand how your condition affects your daily life.

Step 3 Part of first visit

Diagnosis & Treatment Plan

Based on your assessment, we explain your condition clearly and create a personalised treatment plan with specific goals and timelines.

You'll receive a clear explanation of what's causing your pain, how long recovery typically takes, and what your treatment involves. We believe in shared decision-making — your goals and preferences shape the plan.

Step 4 30-45 minutes per session

Active Treatment Sessions

Hands-on treatment may include manual therapy, dry needling, exercise prescription, and progressive rehabilitation tailored to your goals.

Sessions typically 1-3x per week depending on condition severity. Each session builds on the previous one. You'll also receive home exercises to accelerate your recovery between visits.

Step 5 Every 4-6 sessions

Progress Review

We reassess your progress, adjust your treatment plan, and set new milestones. Your physiotherapist ensures you are on track.

We measure improvements in pain levels, range of motion, strength, and functional ability. Treatment plans adapt as you progress — we never follow a one-size-fits-all approach.

Step 6 Final session

Discharge & Prevention

Once you've achieved your goals, we create a maintenance programme to prevent recurrence and keep you active long-term.

You'll receive a personalised home exercise programme, prevention strategies, and guidance on when to return. Follow-up consultations are available if needed — we're always here for you.

Common Questions About Your First Visit

How long is the first physiotherapy session?

Your first session at Kinesio Rehab typically lasts 45-60 minutes. This includes a thorough assessment of your condition, a clear explanation of your diagnosis, and the start of your personalised treatment plan. Follow-up sessions are 30-45 minutes.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see us. You can book directly with Kinesio Rehab via WhatsApp or phone call. However, if you have insurance coverage, check with your provider as some may require a referral for claims. If you do have a referral letter, please bring it along — it helps us coordinate your care.

What should I wear to physiotherapy?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement. Shorts and a t-shirt work well for most sessions. For lower body problems, wear shorts or loose pants. For upper body issues, a t-shirt or tank top is ideal. Avoid jeans, tight skirts, or restrictive clothing. Bring sports shoes if you have them.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your specific condition, severity, and goals. Some acute conditions improve in 3-6 sessions, while chronic or post-surgical conditions may require 8-16 sessions or more. During your first assessment, your physiotherapist will give you a clear estimate and review your progress every 4-6 sessions.

Is physiotherapy painful?

You may feel some discomfort during treatment, particularly if you have pain or stiffness. However, we always work within your comfort level and communicate throughout the session. Some techniques like dry needling may cause brief, mild discomfort. Any soreness after a session is usually temporary and settles within 24-48 hours. The goal is always to reduce your pain, not increase it.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we work with various insurance providers and can assist with claims documentation. Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment and we'll help verify your coverage. Some providers require a doctor's referral for claims — we can advise you on this when you book.
