Body Alignment & Adjustment Therapy

Uneven shoulders, a tilted pelvis, or posture that fuels constant aches? We assess how your whole body lines up, then use hands-on adjustment and corrective exercise to realign it — so pain has less reason to come back.

Overview

When one part of your body sits out of alignment, everything else compensates. A tilted pelvis changes how your spine loads. Rounded shoulders and a forward head strain your neck all day. One leg working harder than the other overloads a hip or knee. Over months and years, these small alignment faults become the hidden driver behind recurring back pain, neck tension, headaches, and joint wear. Body Alignment & Adjustment Therapy at Kinesio Rehab targets that root cause: how your body is structured and how it moves, not just where it hurts today.

This is physiotherapy-led postural and structural correction. Our physiotherapists assess your alignment from head to foot — the position of your pelvis, the curves of your spine, the level of your shoulders, and the way you stand, sit, and move. We then combine hands-on joint adjustment and mobilisation with targeted corrective exercise to restore balanced alignment and, crucially, to retrain the muscles that hold you there. Hands-on work creates the change; exercise makes it last. Treating one without the other is why so many people feel great after a session and then slide straight back within days.

Your first visit is a detailed 45-minute assessment. We look at your posture in standing and sitting, measure key joint ranges, test the strength and length of the muscles that control alignment, and identify the specific imbalances driving your symptoms — a rotated pelvis, a stiff mid-back forcing the neck to overwork, weak deep core or gluteal muscles, or a leg-length or loading asymmetry. We screen for anything that makes hands-on treatment unsafe before we begin, and we explain exactly what we find in plain language, often using simple posture photos so you can see it for yourself.

Treatment then works on two fronts. Hands-on adjustment and joint mobilisation free up the stiff, restricted segments — commonly the mid-back, pelvis, and neck — and guide them toward better alignment, with force always adapted to your age and bone health. Alongside this, we prescribe a focused corrective exercise program that strengthens the muscles holding your new alignment and releases the ones pulling you out of it. We also address the daily habits feeding the problem: your desk setup, your phone posture, how you sleep, and how you carry load. This combination is what turns a temporary "feels better" into a lasting structural change.

Most patients notice reduced tension and easier, more upright posture within the first two to four sessions. Because alignment problems are usually built over years, meaningful and lasting correction typically takes six to ten sessions spread over several weeks, with a home program throughout and a clear plan to keep you independent afterwards. We track your progress with repeat posture and movement checks so you can see the change, not just feel it.

Body Alignment & Adjustment Therapy suits desk workers with posture-related neck and back pain, people with visibly uneven shoulders or hips, those recovering from injury who have developed compensations, and anyone whose pain keeps returning to the same spot despite treatment elsewhere. It is available at our Putra Heights clinic and through premium home visits across the Klang Valley. If your body keeps pulling you back into the same painful pattern, realigning the structure — and retraining it to stay there — is how you finally break the cycle.

Common Problems We Solve

You have noticed one shoulder or hip sits higher than the other
Your neck and back ache constantly from sitting at a desk all day
Your posture has slowly rounded forward and you want it corrected
Pain keeps coming back to the same spot no matter what you try
You feel "twisted" or unbalanced when you stand or walk
You get relief from adjustments elsewhere but it never seems to last

Our Treatment Process

1

Postural Assessment

We assess your alignment from head to foot — pelvis position, spinal curves, shoulder level, and how you stand, sit, and move — and identify the specific imbalances driving your symptoms.

2

Show and Explain

Using simple posture photos and clear language, we show you exactly what is out of alignment and how it connects to where you feel pain.

3

Hands-On Adjustment

We free up the stiff, restricted segments — commonly the mid-back, pelvis, and neck — with joint adjustment and mobilisation, guiding them toward better alignment with force adapted to your body.

4

Corrective Exercise

We prescribe targeted exercises to strengthen the muscles that hold your new alignment and release the ones pulling you out of it, so the change lasts.

5

Habit Correction & Re-check

We fix the daily habits feeding the problem — desk, phone, sleep, load — and re-check your posture and movement over time so you can see measurable progress.

Why Choose Us

Most posture "fixes" fail because they treat the symptom, not the structure — or they adjust the joint but never retrain the muscles that hold it in place. At Kinesio Rehab we do both. Our lead physiotherapist Thurairaj has over 13 years of clinical experience and combines hands-on adjustment with evidence-based corrective exercise, so your alignment change actually holds.

We assess your whole body, not just the painful spot, because alignment problems are rarely where they hurt. And every hands-on technique is safety-screened and adapted to your age and bone health — precise correction without forceful, unassessed handling.

Body Alignment & Adjustment Therapy — FAQs

How is this different from a massage or a one-off adjustment?

Massage relaxes muscles and a one-off adjustment can free a joint, but neither corrects why your body keeps pulling back into the same pattern. We combine hands-on adjustment with corrective exercise and habit changes so the alignment holds. Hands-on work creates the change; exercise and better habits make it last.

Can bad posture really be corrected?

Yes. Posture is largely controlled by joint mobility, muscle balance, and daily habits — all of which can be changed. We restore the mobility, retrain the muscles, and fix the habits feeding the problem. Alignment built over years takes some weeks to meaningfully correct, but it is very achievable.

Is the adjustment forceful or does it involve cracking?

No forceful, unassessed manipulation. We use graded joint adjustment and mobilisation adapted to your body and bone health. A click may occur naturally but is never the goal — restoring balanced movement is.

One of my legs / shoulders looks higher than the other — can you help?

Often yes. Many apparent asymmetries come from muscle imbalance, pelvic rotation, or postural habits rather than a fixed structural difference, and these respond well to treatment. Our assessment identifies which type you have and what can realistically be changed.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people notice easier, more upright posture within two to four sessions. Because alignment faults are usually built over years, lasting correction typically takes six to ten sessions with a home program throughout, plus a plan to keep you independent afterwards.

I sit at a desk all day — will this actually help?

Desk workers are exactly who benefit most. Long hours of sitting are one of the biggest drivers of alignment problems. Alongside hands-on treatment, we correct your desk setup, screen height, and sitting habits so you are not undoing your progress for eight hours a day.
